Tasmanian Hand Sanitiser

Our Story

Tasmanian Hand Sanitiser (Ethanol 80% Hand Sanitiser) originated as an idea between two Tasmanian Pharmacists in early 2020. Born and bred in the north of the state, Matthew Will and Martin Quinn wanted to manufacture a pharmaceutical grade product using local suppliers. To assist setting up a local distribution network the pair brought Tasmanian businessman Charles Beaumont on board. Together the three formed M2 Logistics, based in Launceston, which now co-ordinates manufacture and supply of Tasmanian Hand Sanitiser to the local and national market.

Since March 2020 the team have co-ordinated manufacture and distribution of over 60,000L of medical grade Hand Sanitiser. In addition to this M2 Logistics now provides a wide range of cleaning and sanitation products as well as Personal Protective Equipment. Our range continues to expand to service the needs of our Customers all over Australia. Customers include the Tasmanian Government, TT-Line and numerous sporting clubs and organisations as well as businesses.

With our various suppliers and partners at Caled Containers (located at Franklin in the south of the state), Label Home Tasmania (in Hobart), Dev Design, Think Big and various couriers we love working with the Tasmanian team that are helping to bring our products to market.

Our hand sanitiser liquid itself is manufactured at Tasmanian Alkaloids – a registered Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) manufacturing facility, making it fully compliant with the TGA’s Therapeutic Goods Amendment (Excluded Goods – Hand Sanitisers) Determination 2020. The product is made in strict accordance with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) recommended hand rub formulation, using pharmaceutical grade products.

As a result, unlike a number of sanitisers currently available, the 80% Ethanol product is fully compliant with the TGA determination and is suitable for use in medical and health services.

The hand sanitiser is available direct to the public and businesses from this website as well as local ‘The Importer’ stores, Tasmanian pharmacies, IGAs and some independent businesses. Business customers are also able to purchase direct from their wholesalers including Symbion Pharmacy, Millen Wholesale and Phil Hughes Office Solutions.

In supporting our product you support nine Tasmanian jobs directly and many more indirectly via the other businesses that we work with.

It is with great pride that we use the Tasmanian wordmark in our branding and imagery. Developed by Brand Tasmania, with their permission we have incorporated the wordmark into our soon to be released packaging and advertising materials. To quote Brand Tasmania, ‘it’s different in Tasmania’. It is and we are proud to be #Tasmanian
